Compressible simulations of a pipe flow

The aim of this project is to perform compressible simulations with the software ANSYS CFX. The chosen test case is a straight cylinder pipe with uniform flow. A pressure source term in the center of the computational domain is setup to induce a traveling wave. The main difficulty in compressible simulations is the treatment of the boundary conditions. Indeed, specific numerical methods are employed to avoid numerical reflections of the traveling waves. The student will be in charge to develop these numerical methods in the CFX environment.
