The increasing use of orbitally shaken bioreactors for cells cultivation purposes poses challenging issues related to the hydrodynamic phenomena occurring in the container. We use small scale vessels in order to study the sloshing and mixing issues. Several measurement methods exist for the evaluation of mixing rate. All these methods are always complex and inaccurate. In the present project, we intend to develop a new measuring method allowing a local quantification of the mixing rate within a shaken container, with more precision and reproducibility.
